Comment(by covex):

 I have this problem too. I am running regular Fedora 12 install with
 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High
 Definition Audio Controller (rev 01)

 When I try to play one of my home made DVDs this error pops up in totem.
 There is no sound during playback and the playback of video is very
 choppy. I tried pulseaudio -vvv and thru the bunch of messages like
 D: protocol-native.c: Requesting rewind due to rewrite.
 D: alsa-sink.c: Requested to rewind 204380 bytes.
 D: alsa-sink.c: Limited to 11804 bytes.
 D: alsa-sink.c: before: 2951
 D: alsa-sink.c: after: 2951
 D: alsa-sink.c: Rewound 11804 bytes.
 D: sink.c: Processing rewind...
 D: sink-input.c: Have to rewind 11804 bytes on render memblockq.
 D: sink-input.c: Have to rewind 77064 bytes on implementor.
 D: source.c: Processing rewind...

 I end up with
 E: cpulimit.c: Received request to terminate due to CPU overload.

 I can play the DVD without issues in VLC.
