 My problem is solved:
 This guideline
 [http://www.pulseaudio.org/wiki/KDE]
 contains the correct hint:
 This autostart file is required: /etc/xdg/autostart/pulseaudio-kde.desktop
 I didn't have it.
 By chance I found that it's contained in the module "pulseaudio-
 module-x11" which I hadn't installed. (Why should I? There should perhaps
 a dependency be defined.) After I installed it in the regular way via YAST
 everything is OK and Skype is working, too.
