Don't get me wrong, your patches are very much appreciated. The new feature
just wasn't yet ready for general use.

If you're now getting bug reports about people wanting audio to move to the
internal speakers when HDMI is unplugged, what do you think those same people
will think when the audio moves to the internal speakers every time they take a
ten minute break while HDMI is plugged in?
