this is speciak feature of HDA driver which copy front signal to all output
jacks
seem bug in alsa driver if your front jack has no sound
as pulseaudio provide profiles: stereo surround40
the grey jack shoul be muted by pulseaudio when you select front profile when
you play stereo through pulseaudio</pre>
