Excellent, I've started on the HAL stuff already and should have the
detection stuff done by the end of today.  I'd noticed that integration
with the DBUS mainloop may turn out to be "tricky" but from my initial
investigation I don't foresee any major issues.

I'm glad to hear you'll be working on the stream migration stuff as
doing that properly looked like it would require a lot more knowledge of
PA's internals than I presently have. It's good to see the renewed
interest in PA as ESD is long passed its prime and PA still seems to be
the most suitable replacement.
