[pulseaudio-discuss] Very high network traffic with 0.9.15 and tunnel sinks

I thought I'd discuss this here before logging it as a bug.

I have a network of machines all running pulseaudio. One has just been
upgraded 0.9.15 (and KDE 4). All machines are configured using paprefs
to discover and announce using zeroconf. Also they are all configured to
not require authentication (basically all the options on the first tab
of paprefs are ticked).

The older machines are all running pulseaudio 0.9.10 and either GNOME or
XFCE.

When I enable the network sink settings (as above) on the new machine,
the CPU usage on all the machines skyrockets and there is a continuous
stream of TCP traffic going between the new machine and all the others
(verified using wireshark). On one machine I get random sounds through
the speakers. I've had PA quit a number of times, randomly on various
machines, due to high CPU usage. If I remove the new machine from the
network it all calms down and the TCP traffic reverts to a burst of
packets every second or so.

Could this be an issue with using different versions of PA on the
various machines, or is it a bug? I have tried setting up 2 machines
with 0.9.15 but they can't see each other at all.
