Crazy machines :).. But for this you wouldn't be using the line-out path
as far as i know. 

Tbh. while hardware-wise those machines clearly have the capabilities,
does this actually work on linux atm without changing the pin
configuration all around?

Tbh, these kind of problems all come down to the fact that essentially
pulse is second-guessing what the kernel is doing. This patch, in the
end, is another heuristic that makes the pulse state match the kernel
state...
