I&#39;ve noticed that the startup volume for applications sometimes jumps by itself to 100 % <br><br>I&#39;m viewing happenings in pavucontrol, the applications tab - I&#39;ve seen this with sox, mplayer and rhythmbox so far <br>
<br>play a stereo file and set the volume low (say 10%)<br>quit the sound player application <br><br>play the same file again, or another stereo file - the volume is at the level you set it before. <br><br>now play a mono file with the same application - the volume by itself (no user input) is now 100% <br>
<br>set the volume down to 10%<br>quit the sound player application <br>play the mono file again, the volume is still 10%. <br><br>quit the sound player<br>play a stereo file -&nbsp; the volume by itself is now 100% <br><br><br>
