If you want a solution that 'just works', then either log off your<br>
primary display, or use a separate user with a separate GNOME profile.<br>

(This is a bug in GNOME though, IMO, not your fault.)<br>

I don't know how it used to be before, but Gnome 2.26 and 2.28 in that case simply present GDM login screen only on the monitor and when I log in 2 instances of Gnome DE appear on both screens. When I log off from the monitor, TV also gets logged out. <br>
