Hello all :)<div><br></div><div>I've set up pulseaudio on my HTPC/hobby server/desktop box as a system-wide daemon. The reason is that I'm running it also a dual-set setup with an instance of XBMC automatically logging in on seat 2, which is an Nvidia card feeding video and audio to my living room TV and amp. I'd like to be able to use XBMC for playing music to both my living room amp and my kitchen amp which covers my kitchen and bedroom/study. On top of this, I use the other seat in my study for surfing, development etc., and so I want to be able to play output there, too. So that's basically my justification for going system-wide ;)</div>
<div><br></div><div>Anyway, I've got it running pretty much perfectly. Except for this one funky problem: I can start pulseaudio fine, and play to my combined sink it if I start doing so before it goes "idle" with all its "Hmm... Not much happening..." sort of messages. After that, I can start playback, and maybe even hear a bit of connection noise from my DAC in my livingroom, I can see in pavucontrol the combined sink receiving sound, but there's no output being routed to any of the slave sinks. I can change the sink in pavucontrol to one of the slave sinks and get output, but the combined sink remains "dead".</div>
<div><br></div><div>This also happens if I've been playing to the combined sink, stop, and then again the -vvv output of pulseaudio will let me know that it's detecting no streams to play, and then deciding to go "vacuuming". After that, I can no longer play to my combined sink until I restart pulseaudio.</div>
<div><br></div><div>I've attached <a href="http://system.pa">system.pa</a>, daemon.conf, and debug output from starting pulseaudio and some seconds later when it enters "vacuuming" and the combined sink is no longer functional.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Thanks in advance for any help you might provide,</div><div>Daniel :)</div>
