[SCIM] Trouble installing Firefox 1.0.1 with SCIM

I'm trying to install Firefox 1.0.1 but I 
consistently get this error:

SCIM: im_module_init
free(): invalid pointer 0x8265a30!
free(): invalid pointer 0x8265a08!
./firefox-installer: line 56: 27904 Segmentation 
fault      ./${BINNAME}-bin $@

What does this mean, and how do I fix it? It 
appears to be specific to SCIM -- people who 
remove it have no problem installing Firefox.
