there are timestamps - see the lines starting with "event".
yes, I wanted reading to be relatively efficient so no uuencoding or any rewriting of
binaries (I use cut -b -50 to view the human readable part, works pretty well, of course
binaries end up as multiple lines due to unencoded EOLs but it's not too bad).
