I'm not sure what the schedule is, but I reckon weeks - months. There 
seems to be a release every other month or so (or when enough people ask 
for the next release).
There's no schedule.
SVN automated builds are already 1.7.0 (and there are compelling 
features to get it released, such as capture from multiple interfaces, 
GTK3 support, etc.)
