Please check if glibc exposes the same problem you run into, then we will
fix at least that.

For other libcs please provide a patch, we *might* merge reasonable and
simple workarounds, but no ifdefs or re-implementations of glibc functions
in our code.

We don't make and never made any promises about supporting libcs which lack
features we use.

None of us use any other libc, and we will not work on it or fix anything
ourselves.

Closing again, there is no point in reopening it without a patch to
discuss attached.</pre>
