<pre>I'm guessing that
StandardInput=null
StandardOutput=syslog
are wrong. With inetd-style socket activation the socket is passed as stdin and
stdout to the process. Does it work if those lines are removed (after systemd
daemon-reload && systemctl restart saned.socket)?</pre>
