This almost certainly needs this fix:

which isn't included in the Fedora package AFAICS, at least not in

  http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/systemd.git/commit/?h=f21&id=e1b4cbef8aaca5e

But removing the backup files will work fine indeed.
