<p dir="ltr">The word "elide" is very uncommon in typical English usage. To make this message easier to understand for non-native speakers and for those that may not have a dictionary or the Internet available, how about we go with "truncated" or "shortened"? "Truncated" is frequently used in computer jargon, so non-native speakers are likely already familiar with that word.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Also, your patch is backwards.</p>
