Shouldn't we use a bigger timeout? Or let the user choose it?
When Empathy requests contact list channels (on the Connection), it passes
G_MAXINT as this operation can take a while if the server is slow to send the
contact list.
I think MC uses a bigger timeout when requesting channels as well.
