I've tried reproducing this, but it's more inconsistent than it originally
seemed.  I had this problem for a couple of days with MSN, then not with MSN
but Twitter.  In the case of Twitter, it seemed to be because it was going back
through my history to find replies.  Not sure what the equivalent would be with
MSN, but I'm wondering if there was just some issue that day with MSN (saw a
post from someone using Pidgin complaining about MSN around the same time,
which seemed curious).

I suggest you just close this issue for now.
