I have pushed some more patches to my branch.

I am trying to make the interface of IdleServerConnection more "asynchronous
friendly" like GIO's _async/_finish methods. Currently we had a strange mix of
asynchronous and synchronous operations going behind interfaces designed for
synchronous usage.
