The < and > of course need to be encoded as entities.

         <arg direction="in" name="aliases" type="a{us}"
tp:type="Dict&lt;Contact_Handle,String&gt;"/>

Any suggestions for a more wrist-friendly format, or shall we go ahead
and use &lt;/&gt;?
