In my previous message, I forgot to mention that I have written in my xinitrc the following: GTK_IM_MODULE=uim; export GTK_IM_MODULE QT_IM_MODULE=uim; export QT_IM_MODULE XMODIFIERS=@im=uim; export XMODIFIERS uim-xim & I have also restarted X, and even rebooted the device, but am unable to get a candidate window in any application.
