<pre>I tested robster's seat patches[1] prior to merge, and they exhibited desired
functionality.
Manually applying the seat patches on weston commits
de4667351c69a1b7838dd6f2c47c2d7befb9f506 and
0bd587e645ed83ed234851570725c44f234d7c4d on shows desired functionality.
However, the same tests do not function on wayland and weston tip
(3af748b872f8f1ac4ce536b9826cc7ecbe74df6a and
806d8c0b781e9702a93b90c366f7bebbd77a4860 respectively).
I'm still in the process of determining the exact points of failure, but I
wanted to file this issue now to alert folks to this functional regression.
Setup:
* Create udev rules and modify weston.ini accordingly
* With a laptop, plug an external display and a second pointing device
* Configure Weston to seat the second pointing device on the external display
* Launch weston-launch
Expected:
* Seated input appears on, and is confined to, the external display
Actual:
* Seated input is not confined to its output-- both cursors (laptop's
touchpad and second pointing device) appear on the laptop's LVDS and can
traverse both displays
