Your snippet combined with the patch from <a class="bz_bug_link
bz_status_REOPENED "
title="REOPENED - GtkWindow CSD: gtk_window_resize() also includes client side decorations size"
href="show_bug.cgi?id=756618">bug 756618</a> fixes the problem for me
on GTK3. Marking as a duplicate.
