Yes.

That's working already if I understand you correctly. Weston
integrates fine with other applications on VTs.

Honestly, I don't see why non-root would attract more testers. But as
a hint: weston-launch requires root only during setup. weston itself
is then run without root privileges.

The tarballs should work fine with slackware. You can even try the
git-HEAD-tarballs.
