[PATCH wayland 0/1] Switch to Gitlab MR workflow for Wayland

Hi,

the patch has the rationale. If it gets accepted, we will turn merge requests
on for Wayland.

This will not invalidate existing mailing list patch submissions. What is in
Patchwork will not be lost.
