   Well, I'm trying to get this (and mbuf) removed from the Xorg server.  

OK.

   The consensus at this point is that double-buffering is best achieved 
   using a backing pixmap.  Putting this in XCB might cause people to 
   assume that it is still supported.  There are some notes here:

It need not go into XCB proper, but it should be part of the set of XML
specifications, for interop testing and non-C users.  At least, that's the
impression i got from previous discussion:
