utf-16....
i remember something about javascript defining it's charset as
utf-16...probably that's why mozilla people keep to utf-16....

(well, mozilla has 8bit strings and unicode strings (unicode string for
them means imho ucs-2...that means 16bit chars without the support for
>65536 unicode characters)

java uses utf-16 too btw.
