OK, so the fact that there is no preference is still an application bug.
Please report to the authors that dumping in your home dir with no way
to change isn't friendly.
The lack of "Path" key support in GNOME is a bug. I've filed a report
[1]. Feel free to add yourself to the CC list to be informed about its
status.
