Would it help if translations for .desktop files could be in separate files?

E.g. instead of having a .desktop file like:

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Exec=foo
Name=English Foo
Name[de]=German foo

You could have a file foo.desktop like:

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Exec=foo
Name=English Foo

And then a file foo.desktop.de that only provides translations like:

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=German foo

That will need changes in both Gnome and KDE of course for it to work.

Cheers,
Waldo
