Summary: mplayer instances back to back -> freeze PC
           Product: xorg
           Version: CVS_head
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Driver/nVidia
        AssignedTo: xorg-bugzilla-noise at freedesktop.org
        ReportedBy: andy at warmcat.com

Inspiron 5150

xv is working okay in the nv driver, mplayer is fine. However... if I am
watching a clip in mplayer, and start a second instance of mplayer, naturally
it stalls until the first clip completes, which is fine. But then when the
first clip completes the second IMMEDIATELY begins and on the first frame
locks the machine solid.

It has been doing this since the latter days of XF86 (RIP). Perhaps the
assets needed to own the xv stuff are not properly protected by a
synchronization object on close, and the second instance gets going when only
some of the goodies have been released. It could be an mplayer bug but I
don't know it should be able to lock the machine like that from userspace.
