           Summary: xcompmgr/composite fading effect bug
           Product: xorg
           Version: 6.8.0
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: App/other
        AssignedTo: xorg-bugzilla-noise at freedesktop.org
        ReportedBy: jessejackson at gmail.com

Hello, I am using xcompmgr and xorg from cvs (checked out sept 8th):

(from xcompmgr.c)

$Id: xcompmgr.c,v 1.26 2004/08/14 21:39:51

(output of X -version)

X Window System Version 6.8.0
Release Date: 8 September 2004
X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0, Release 6.8
Build Operating System: Linux 2.6.8-1.521 i686 [ELF]

There appears to be a redraw problem with xcompmgr running with the -f option.
(for fading) What happens is when a window is minimized or a menu deselected on
a panel or menu bar, (this is in GNOME, btw) the fade effect works, but upon
selecting the menu option again or restoring the window, the window or widget
itself doesn't appear. If the -c option is being used, a shadow will appear
with no window in front of it. I'm not sure if this bug is in xcompmgr or the
xorg composite extension in general. This is with the latest nVidia drivers
using the RenderAccel option, by the way.
