Summary: radeon driver breaks vesa driver
           Product: xorg
           Version: 6.8.0
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Driver/Radeon
        AssignedTo: xorg-bugzilla-noise at freedesktop.org
        ReportedBy: maacruz at navegalia.com

Starting and closing one or two times a X server with the radeon driver
prevents the X server with the vesa driver to start.
I start a X server with driver radeon, close it (with CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE), try
to start a X server with driver vesa, sometimes works, sometimes not
("sometimes" being different reboots, not X server starts) . If I start and
kill for a second time the X server with the radeon driver, the X server with
the vesa driver will not start anymore until the machine is rebooted (fails
with Fatal server error:no screens found).
It always happens after killing the X server at least one time. If I start the
X server with vesa driver on a second VT before killing the X server with the
radeon driver running on the first VT, it will work.
When the vesa driver fails, I tryed with other drivers (radeon, propietary ATI
driver, fbdev) with no problem.
I'm using xorg 6.8.0 precompiled rpms for suse linux 9.1. The hardware is a PC
(athlon xp) with a Radeon 9200SE.
