I don't see these kinds of artifacts, but I thought I would comment about one 
other thing I am seeing. I am experiencing hangs with 6.8.0, when playing 
Enemy Territory (also just running glxgears seemed to cause it, however, I 
have tested with it only once). Computer doesn't lock up completely, I am able 
to ssh to it, but the only way to recover from the X hang seems to be a 
reboot. 
 
Now I have gone back to 6.7.0, where I have never had these problems. 
 
My hardware is ATI Technologies Inc Radeon R250 Lf [Radeon Mobility 9000 M9]
