Summary: System Freezes when using Xorg 6.8 + i915 on kernel
                    2.6.8 or higher
           Product: xorg
           Version: 6.8.0
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: blocker
          Priority: P2
         Component: Driver/i810
        AssignedTo: xorg-bugzilla-noise at freedesktop.org
        ReportedBy: marcusvini at hotmail.com

Since the launch of Xorg 6.8 I was not able to make it work with kernels 2.6.8
or higher. I had to install back the last working version of xorg 6.7 to have my
machine working.
My cpu is a DELL Dimension 2300 runing on a P4. the distribution is Gentoo Linux
2005.0 compiled under gcc 3.4.3 running last glibs and stuff.
For all that matters I already ran the driver under vesa option and it loads
everything just fine.
Whenever I try to run under i810 driver, the Xorg.log file stops where is access
the DDC information, no matter I put the Option "DisplayInfo" true or false.
I am up to give more information if I get the directions on how to do it.
