Summary: AIW 9000 Radeon Pro lockups
           Product: xorg
           Version: 6.8.1
          Platform: PC
               URL: http://www.dropline.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3573
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: major
          Priority: P1
         Component: Driver/Radeon
        AssignedTo: xorg-bugzilla-noise at freedesktop.org
        ReportedBy: bristleburger at users.sourceforge.net

Machine locks up after a few hours – usually in the screen saver.

The keyboard and mouse go dead so it is not possible to Ctrl/Alt/F2 to another
terminal.

It is possible to ssh in from another host to reboot. During the lock-up top
shows that X is taking 99.9% CPU. If the machine locks up in the screen saver,
top might show gflux taking 99.9% CPU.

It is possible to make X crash immediately as follows:
1.use startx to fire up gnome (2.8.2).
2.open a terminal window and start glxgears
3.open a second terminal window and start a second copy of glxgears

As soon as the second instance of glxgears is started, X locks up immediately.

I am running Slackware 10.0, Kernel 2.6.10, Dropline Gnome 2.8.2 on a dual 1000
MHz PIII, Abit VP6 based machine.

This problem occors in both xorg-6.8.2 and xorg-6.8.1. Xorg-6.7 was OK.
