After a discussion with Egbert:

As it seems we don't get the new driver with DMA texture upload into 6.8.2. In
this case I would opt for inclusion of this patch into 6.8.2. It reduces
performance of render, but it is not really useable w/o.

I have to check it against xcompmgr, and if I find the same drawbacks as Anton,
I might have to add a switch to turn it off. Maybe I can find out why it slows
down rendering (it shouldn't in this case). I'll do this tomorrow.

I was asked, why I calculate the size of the off-screen render area by
pScrn->displayWidth * MAGIC_R100_MIN_TEX_HEIGHT: I didn't want to alter
destination pitch for predraw, so the off-screen area has to be larger than the
chunk that is actually drawn.
