This is, as near as I can tell, a bug in gdb, triggered when the server forks
to execute xkbcomp. One or more of us should report this to the gdb folks,
thank you for the reminder. I've gotten this on several versions of gdb and
decided it was easier to attach after X was up.
$ gdb `which Xorg` `pidof X`
