i810 regression on IBM thinkpad X40 and 6.8.2

Currently it is pretty late in the game. We should to discuss this with 
Alan Hourihane, the maintainer of the driver.
Alan has agreed to take bugs from the freedesktop bugzilla. Maybe he could
be made the default maintainer of this component.
