how to add a module

I am quite happy with the way xorg starts when I don't have a config file 
but I miss one module; the dri module.
Is there a way to load that without writing a full config file?

And if there is not; how do I create a config file that mirrors what the 
defaults do?  I failed at writing an acceptable set of modelines :(  The 
defaults are much better.

I'd really appreciate some answer to help me out here.
