653 Most of the utility of this extension is subsumed by RandR version 1.2, with

655 If these features continue to be useful, either some relationship between

Essential if color calibration is to be supported. To run a calibration
each screen needs to be identifiable, and this identification related
to where to display a test window on that screen, and how to set the
Video LUT/RAMDAC values for that screen.

If RandR doesn't support this, then anyone looking for accurate
color reproduction on X11 will simply have to avoid using RandR. As
I've mentioned before, identifying the DDC/CI associated with the
screen would be a good thing too.
