Which X distribution are you trying to compile? I don't think Xorg is
able to compile on Windows, but if it is, it would definitely require
Windows ports of a bunch of stuff (thats what Cygwin is for).

In any case, you could use the Xming port if you just need to run an X
server--they have binaries there...

I use it on my Windows boxen for remote work on my Linux boxen. As for
full X distributions... Cygwin's is the only one I know about.
