Wrong DDC information for external monitor with i810

I've added the values from the DDC 

        HorizSync       31-60
        VertRefresh     60-75 

and it almost worked. The monitor states that the input
 is 2048x1536/26Hz (and Out of Range). Fiddling around
with +-hsync  and +- vsync brings no success :/

Any ideas left?
