Problem while starting X-Windows

Dear all,

I have successfully compiled and installed X windows 6.8.2 on the TI Davinci System. But when I issue "startx" or "xinit", I encounter the following error. 

Fatal server error:
xf86EnableIOPorts: Failed to set IOPL for I/O
(Also I have attached the log file.)

Its sufficient for me, if the data is just written to the frame buffer device. How to do that ??
