intel driver suspend/resume failure

This one is on fc7 but with the intel driver from the top of the tree:

commit 404fd47573f855b0442d49a383542fc093825ad0
Author: Wang Zhenyu <zhenyu.z.wang at intel.com>
Date: Wed Jun 6 11:01:48 2007 +0800

Enable overlay on G33 class chipsets

The laptop is a Fujitsu P7120 with an i915 display controller.

The symptoms are that the X server always crashes on resume (log
attached). I've tried the various quirk options to pm-suspend but
nothing seems to work.

Other data points:

without X running, pm-suspend works just fine (except the backlight has
to be got back by pressing the brightness button).

After suspend/resume without X, the X server crashes on start (similar
error to that attached) and leaves the display messed up. After X is
killed, vbetool post can be used to recover the text display.

suspend/resume used to work in fc6 (driver 1.6.5 I think, i810 instead
of intel) but only if the PCI state was dumped and restored
from /proc/bus/pci/00/02.0

Disabling DRI doesn't seem to make a difference to the crash.
