IIRC the server version you are using did not recognise evdev as core 
pointer/keyboard capable driver. So if you don't have a device using 
"mouse" or "keyboard" driver the server will automatically add one.

You need git master or server 1.4 (X11R7.3) for AllowEmptyInput to work.
