kdrive driver based on X driver?

I'd like to write a kdrive video driver for the various devices that use 
the sisusbvga X driver ( http://www.winischhofer.eu/linuxsisusbvga.shtml 
). The X driver doesn't provide a framebuffer; is there an easy/obvious 
way to go about writing the kdrive driver? I've never done anything with 
kdrive, so be gentle in explanations... if there's a "here's how to 
write a kdrive video driver" tutorial hanging about somewhere, that'd be 
awesome too.
