Does xf86-video-vesa support rotation?

Hi all,

I am wondering if xf86-video-vesa does support rotation via xrandr?

All I got is:
root at OT:~# DISPLAY=:0.0 xrandr -o right --verbose

*0    640 x 480    ( 169mm x 127mm )  *60
Current rotation - normal
Current reflection - none
Rotations possible - normal
Reflections possible - none
Setting size to 0, rotation to right
Setting reflection on neither axis
X Error of failed request:  BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
  Major opcode of failed request:  149 (RANDR)
  Minor opcode of failed request:  2 (RRSetScreenConfig)
  Serial number of failed request:  14
  Current serial number in output stream:  14


Is rotation in general possible with the vesa driver?
