>From what I have read in the archives (less than 30 messages in total so
far) and what little I know of the group (I only joined recently) I can
tell you that

1) they dont plan on doing Bitmaps at least not initially, Vector
graphics namely SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) will be the main focus

2) I recognise Inkscape developer names but I'm sure people will use all
kinds of vector graphics software, it shouldn't matter and the project
will only suffer by excluding people.

3) I dont think PDF is likely to be used but if you compile
Inkscape/Sodipodi with gnome-print support you can print/export your SVG
to PDF that way

Also it is likely that the project will choose to license the files as
public domain.
