Agreed, but it's pretty similar to a bunch of the other test work
already done in dbus. This kind of thing is the only way to get good
test coverage on a codebase (it's also why writing tests tends to
encourage modularity since you have to do abstraction layers to allow
swapping in test stub implementations of various interfaces)
